Junior Chef

The ‘Junior Chef’ cooking competition aims to develop the skills of Northern Beaches Year 11/12 hospitality students in preparation for a “Masterchef” style cooking competition, which will pit school against school.

The ‘Junior Chef’ initiative is based upon local chefs donating time once a month from February to June 2011. Each chef will be partnered with a local high school and will work alongside the hospitality teacher to teach basic food preparation skills and provide an industry perspective. Following this preparation, each school will choose a representative to participate in the ‘Junior Chef’ cooking competition.

Talk It Up?

  • Improve their communication skills.
  • Have an understanding of the impact of technology on communication.
  • Improve their interview and telephone skills.
  • Feel confident communicating.
